Investing in education is the most profitable on the long term – that’s what a famous saying sounds like, and if we analyze the essence, we find that it’s true, that only through education we can evolve. Civilization means education and the degree of openness and balance of a nation is measured by the level of education.
In 2022 a premiere took place in the Middle East, more exactly in United Arab Emirates where Romanian community benefited from the first two projects financed by The Department for Romanians Abroad for preserving the language and culture in a completely different part of the world.
Those two projects – Romanian Educational Center in UAE and Romanian education in UAE – were addresses to children and adults and were based on interesting topics and the everyday reality which affects the community in UAE. These activities were proposed by Global Development Center, our training company and performed by our teachers and collaborators. These projects were carried out with the support of The Department for Romanians Abroad.
The projects idea belong to the manager, Mrs. Krystina Sofronya and the implementation is done in partnership with the company HitHigh Events led by Mrs. Ioana Albada. Together, they organized three large-scale educational events on topics of interest for adults, to which all those who wish to update their knowledge, socialize among the community and resume certain interactions will be invited to participate. Along with these trainings, we organize activities for children as well and a contest of essays which will be published in a book. Thus, the little authors will have a souvenir over the years from the participation to this project.
Along with the concrete activities carried out in the project with the aim of increasing the degree of cohesion and information of the Romanian community in UAE, the concept of an educational center lays the foundations for continuous and rhythmic activities to which many members of the Romanian diaspora in the area will subscribe. These will continue depending on the options and how the demand evolves for the various proposed themes, but what is more important is the example given by the motivation and involvement of those who made this beginning.
The Department for Romanians Abroad has an important role in this new beginning, without which the implementation of the project would not have been possible.
